I still believe Stefanik is testing her relevancy & eyeing a shot at House Speaker if her onslaughts against M.Johnson succeed. Since she sees Hochul's lead in the polls as solid, she just might remove herself from the Guv race, remain in her comfortable congress seat & go after Johnson's position.
