The code for volumetrics as seen in those pre-rendered videos is actually still in the game, and a plugin has been developed by Henry to patch it back in!
Be warned it is INCREDIBLY unperformant, as it's made for SFM rendering.

did it swapchain weird? have you tried a different backend? ANGLE powers it. Zink with Gallium approaches native performance. RADV can render this. it runs on Dozen, but only with Mesa. It's compatible with Glon. go download Glon. Glon will run it. Glon is literally right there. Glon has it for you.
