Hi guys!

I am looking for animation work at the moment. I have a year of experience working as an animator and rigger on various indie game projects as well as classical training in cinematics/feature animation.

If you could use an animator, shoot me a message!

Knights of Guinevere is everything I could have hoped for after years of being a massive Dana Terrace and more. It's the kind of art that keeps me inspired to create and try to make things that matter.

'it has no soul' is not really the problem, because it sort of has all the souls in it. the trouble is that they're blended into a homogenous paste. and when you do that, you end up removing any potential for depth. pressing all piano keys at once isn't a melody.

Very excited to share the first round of concept art for my upcoming project Midwest Gothic.

Stranded in a strange land, a minor league baseball player must delve into the darkest depths of a country on the verge of collapse, uncovering lost histories along the way. #indiedev #gamedev

If you loved BG3 and used it as a tentative bridge into the crpg genre, I cannot recommend Pillars of Eternity enough. It is not as polished as BG3 or as accessible but its world building and philosophy touch a bit of a deeper more heady place if that's what you are into.

Some days there is so much suffering and sadness pouring out of every important news story that just being a human being with feelings and empathy begins to feel heavy.

Stay safe everyone. I don't know what else to say so I'll just say I hope you're safe. Whoever you are.

I don't talk much about the more serious side of things here. But I'm currently up earlier than I wanted to be thinking about the downsides of AI and I think there's a sinister aspect to it that might not be focused on enough.

It isn't just financial exploitation, it's also resistance control.

If it makes anyone feel any better, I don't care what color you paint the ledges in your game.

I don't think anything in my life influenced me to become a game developer as much as late December days spent playing the video games I waited all year for and then finally received for Christmas.

I owe so much to Games as a whole and to the wonderful people who helped me get into them.

Chess might be the most brutally stressful game I've ever tried to learn. The ability to play well for 95 percent of a game, navigating really complex puzzles on a time limit while trying to read an opponent, and then cut your odds of winning from 80 to 5 percent with one bad move is nightmare fuel

If you ever have imposter syndrome I'd like to remind you that we are all imposters. Genuinely. If I ever do something that impresses you, do not ask me how. I said yes because it sounded cool and then panicked until it was done.

The challenge is to choose 20 games that greatly influenced you. One game per day, for 20 days. No explanations, no reviews, no particular order.

I've been thinking a lot about AI and the new pitches companies who sell it try to give to creative types.

I think it's a dangerous path to go down, giving parts of your vision over to a computer you loosely control. So I wrote about it!

AI: A Disservice to Yourself
You are a better artist than a computer. I want to start this blog by stating that outright. I don't care where you are in terms of technical skill, I would rather sit down and play the game you are embarrassed of than a game that an AI Studio proudly shows its shareholders. If you dedicate yourself to the craft of game design you will eventually make something no AI can out do. The reason for that is very simple. AI is a "good enough" machine. Any human with a vision for how they want a game

I will never understand any game developer who wants to use AI for large chunks of the design, art, or map making process. There are places it can speed things up with minimal downside but that's not it.

I can't imagine generating something that's KINDA like what I had in mind and calling it good

Time for my yearly pro GameCube propaganda rant

it plays Metroid Prime

It plays Windwaker

It plays Animal Crossing

Shoot it, it still turns on. Boil it in oil? Snap the disc? You're still playing Harvest Moon the next day.

Your favorite console don't know nothing bout that
