Here’s Edric showing how well the plastic school pipes play. These are what we’ll be using for our ‘Try the Pipes’ workshop @sidmouthfolkfest.bsky.social on Tuesday.
I've just been checking the sets of Northumbrian smallpipes that @camusfolk.bsky.social will be using at our @sidmouthfolkfest.bsky.social "try the pipes" session next week. Here's "A Mile to Ride".

I walked past a family on the beach who had named their dog Aldi. Odd, because he was quite Lidl.

I was lucky enough to see many Bright-eyed Frogs (Boophis) during my visit. A male Pyrrhus Bright-eyed Frog (Boophis pyrrhus) calling along the roadside at night, near Andasibe, eastern Madagascar. #herps #NaturePhotography 🌿

If you're in Reykjavik, Pennin Eymundson bookshop has LOTS of signed books by the authors who are here for Iceland Noir. You will find signed books by the likes of Dan Brown, Richard Armitage and me.

Also here is a perfectly normal and unimpressive Icelandic landscape.

"Diit 2015" by Atong Atem, from "A World in Common: Contemporary African Photography" at the Tate Modern, London, until mid-jan. #art #photography

Atong Atem was born in South Sudan. The sitters are Atem's
friends who, like the artist, are part of Australia's African diaspora.
