@votejgr.bsky.social is WFP's first state senate primary endorsement for 2026.

SD-13 is a battleground between the Left and the neoliberal establishment. JGR is committed to co-governing with the organized Left.

I miss when local reporters worked the beat and held officials accountable, not treating them as stepping stones for clout or clicks. Local accountability has fading everywhere. We cannot trust a political class with selective amnesia. We can’t trust influencers who pretend to be reporters.

@bradlander.bsky.social time as Executive Director of the Fifth Avenue Committee coincided with the erosion of the predominantly Puerto Rican community along Park Slope’s Fifth Avenue, highlighting how his policy and leadership decisions displaced long standing communities.

@bradlander.bsky.social Early in his career, advocated for inclusionary zoning, which often speeds gentrification upzoning raises land values and draws luxury development, pushing out Black and Brown residents before any “affordable” units appear.

I do know is how familiar this feels. The rush to back Brad Lander is the same old pattern. White politicians wrapping themselves in progressive issues while Black and Brown communities get talked at, not stood with. This is why progressives lose, and wonder why black n brown men vote against them.

I once supported @bradlander.bsky.social , but I am disappointed in many elected officials who still back him while claiming to support Brown communities. In my experience their leadership on racial issues has fallen short. I expected better and more honest accountability. @justinbrannan.bsky.social

@bradlander.bsky.social has been criticized for selective support of elected officials of color. Allies point to moments where he stayed neutral or late while leaders of color faced attacks, raising concerns about power, loyalty, and who truly gets backed when it matters to him.

@bradlander.bsky.social built a progressive brand while Latino communities paid the price. His housing and land use record is tied to gentrification, displacement, weak accountability, and outreach that came only when votes were needed, not when families were being pushed out.

@kristengonzalez.bsky.social would be an amazing candidate. She brings fresh ideas to Albany and truly understands the communities, spending time talking to people and building real connections, a kind of genuineness you just can’t fake.

I love seeing new faces step up for this seat. But many of these self-proclaimed socialists should be embarrassed, they can’t handle the jobs they already have, let alone chase a promotion.

Progressives need to see winning as the start, not the end. Show you can govern, make policies work, stay humble, know your communities, work with grassroots, and do the job you were elected to before chasing the next seat. Just because you can run doesn’t mean you should.

Reynoso is a politician in the best sense. He rose from council staffer in the neighborhood he grew up in, fought real opposition, and knows his district like a native son. Progressives need to show they can lead and know when ambition should pause. Just because you can run doesn’t mean you should.

Claire’s Sunnyside win doesn’t mean she’s ready for Congress. That district’s mix of Bushwick, Williamsburg, Sunnyside, Brooklyn Heights and Sunset Park takes real depth to understand. Ambition isn’t enough. The seat needs someone who knows the community, not just a hipster with a labor pedigree.

@tiffanycaban.bsky.social came as a bold voice for justice reform in the Queens DA race and nearly won. Instead of trying again, she moved to an easier Council seat. Strong on justice issues, but basics like schools and small businesses sit on autopilot, leaving Astoria with another absentee member.

Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. It’s past time to build a new political path in this country. The two party system keeps failing us and corporate Democrats keep putting their own interests before the people. #WeDeserveBetter

We are currently experiencing the problems with a two party system. One party has decided to become authoritarian, and the other party has decided to bury its head in the sand. What are the people left to do by necessity, We must form another party.

Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends.

But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month.

See you soon, NYC.

And this is why Democrats lose
Democratic Senatorial Campaign Chair Kirsten Gillibrand told NBC News last month that she was confident her party would have formidable candidates in both Maine and North Carolina. She also did not rule out taking sides in primaries to boost the strongest candidate
