It wasn't just a "vehicle" that ruined this key pedestrian access to Forest Park - it was the City Water Dept. 😑

"Found the report. [...] 'Pedestrian bridge was struck by a st louis city water department boom truck.' (It was an International Eagle 9900 chassis, so a big boom truck.)"

- Sidewalk on the north side of Lagoon Drive
- Musicians Memorial & Fountain as a destination
- Greater tree canopy + lighting

Apparently there were gunshots near the Jimmy Johns across from SLU. Police tape is up and Laclede is closed between Vandeventer & Spring

"Exotica Nursery and Gardens" coming this Fall(?) at 1600 S. Vandeventer, long-vacant corner at I-44, McRee, & Vandeventer. Haven't found any other details online. No building permit applications.

On a mostly vacant stretch of Olive, you do wonder why the city doesn’t make sure its own storefront vacancies at least feel activated, or find pop-up tenants at super low rent

Board of Adjustment rejected a variance request to allow a gas station to return to 14th & Chouteau. Lots of testimony in opposition from Ald. Page, police, even NestlePurina makes it unlikely to ever be a gas station again
