the fact that it's not considered that strong of a swear has no bearing on whether or not it's a slur. there are slurs that aren't even considered swears. slurs and swears are two different things, slurs aren't just extra taboo swear words.

a slur is a derogatory word that targets a marginalised group of people. bitch is a derogatory word that targets women. sometimes it also targets men but it is almost always in an emasculating way (ie it compares them to women. a marginalised group of people). bitch is a slur.

"it's not bad enough to be a slur" why do you think that?

i hate body language experts. even worse if you're autistic. so much of signs of lying or whatever is just autistic people do all the time.

early-diagnosed people often experience discrimination because of their diagnosis, and usually get diagnosed without their consent. late/self-diagnosed people are deprived of self-knowledge, resources, and understanding for their most formative years.

the privilege is being able to access the resources you need from an early age and being able to understand why your brain works the way it does without experiencing discrimination as a result.

being high-masking isn't a privilege, because being expected to hide who you are out of fear is not a privilege. likewise, neither being early-diagnosed nor late/self-diagnosed is inherently a privilege.
November 29, 2025 at 6:07 PM
being low-masking isn't inherently a privilege, because many low-masking people are low-masking because they *can't* be high-masking, and they might experience abuse, discrimination, and stigma as a result.
November 29, 2025 at 6:07 PM
neither being high-masking nor low-masking is inherently a privilege. what is a privilege is being able to safely unmask.

people act like being high-masking/late/self-diagnosed is a privilege and it's not, the only privilege here is being LSN

but like, it's not propaganda to point out that western countries do in fact have higher standards of living than most of the rest of the world. that's why imperialism is bad.
November 29, 2025 at 2:03 AM
the problem with these indices is that they don't really address why this is the case, leading people to assume that western countries just do things better without really thinking about the role of imperialism.
November 29, 2025 at 2:03 AM
imperialism improves the quality of life in the predominantly-western imperial core while worsening the quality of life in the predominantly-non-western periphery. that's why quality of life indices look like that. it's not imperial propaganda to acknowledge this.
November 29, 2025 at 2:03 AM
and it's strange for anti-imperialists to just act like it's western propaganda to say this. like, this is such a basic truth about imperialism.
