What I usually say when talking to writing students or aspiring writers is: write what you DON'T know, but are very interested in understanding. That's certainly driven my best writing.

Feels like they realize that you can't keep a trope alive without constant fuel.

100 a year for many years because I use a their service and am so glad they don’t have ads. I’ve come to rely on various historical and scientific articles regularly. Wikipedia seems like the only part of the internet you can trust now.
