weirdly, this is sort of why I love writing contemporary stuff. it's hard but if you do it well, you defamaliarize the mundane. it's like forcing the audience to rengage with what they've relegated to the subconscious in their daily lives.

It's a good day to remember that TTRPGs review based on play are intrinsically tied to their table as much, if not more, than the book itself! That's not to dismiss/discount criticisms, only to remember that one table's "this didn't work for us" can easily also be another person's "we loved this!"

itch does a lot for our medium and gives us terms that are pretty much not seen in any adjacent industry (to very little thanks) but this is pretty silly. even just a 'hey, we're having a server issue right now, no eta just yet' would go a long way.
