I screamed SO loud at a particular bit of the ending cinematic to the point of worrying I may have woken up my neighbors LMAO

My next big challenge is figuring out how to neatly serialize all of this .. I was originally going for JSON files but some of the data being stored is just too lengthy to serialize. Thinking I might try YAML and/or coming up with a more efficient way to store tile data as bit flags or strings?

I've really enjoyed the challenge of making something playable without using a game engine - it took a lot longer to get to a state where I actually had something playable happening on screen but I have so much more control over the structure of things underneath that I don't normally have

I'm a big fan of emergent storytelling in games and it's really fun to try and develop systems that can result in that sort of thing and make a world really feel alive!
Learning how to leave juuust enough space for your brain to build bridges between technically unrelated info is very cool

Originally I wanted to write something more but the anniversary stream has left me feeling far too much to sum up in the space of a post here so instead I will just say again . I love u undertale !!!
