It appears that all male orange cats, regardless of official name, wind up with the nickname "Orange boy" in roughly the same intonation that Rolf said "Ed boy"

I'm trying Fedilab on my phone, the pronouns support is pretty neat. If people have a profile field named "Pronouns" it automatically displays its contents in the timeline next to the display name. So you always have the reminder right there.

I typed "Hippie nude deer!" into Google and the second result was a 1/1/11 livejournal post from @the_gneech and I was like "Hey wait, *dicaprio point* I know that guy!"

Part 1/3 In April, I made a comic, looking back at the last 8 years since moving to, and finding my place in Canada. I had a lot of folks say it inspired them to want to move themselves. I decided to make a follow up comic with some handy tips on how to make moving to a new town/country easier.

It feels like there's something on the tech/knowledge horizon of - standardizing access to data, since we had been using language but llms are destroying that, and apps are trying to constrain it.

Like, how Fediverse content feels like it would live better with the presentation app separate […]

Wonder what it's like to remember life experiences in something other than "vibe memory". I could never be a witness at a trial. "Are you sure that's what you saw?" - sir, I have never been sure about anything I've experienced, and I'm not about to magically start now.

Spent entirely too much time in VR sculpting (Adobe Medium) today, but this is the result of exporting the result and futzing with the textures a bit in Blender.

Okay, turns out eggnog makes amazing French toast batter. Particularly if you like it sweeter and a little less eggy. Not surprising, they're both basically eggs, cream, milk, sugar, spices. Stores are literally selling drinkable French toast batter in the dairy section this time of year. 😋 […]

Seller: "This empty capsule holds 150-300 mg!"

okay, let me check the manufacturer's page for the actual length/width/height

Manufacturer: "This empty capsule is as tall as a blueberry!"

....I didn't know these were made by Smurfs

Dear laptop makers. Please put a USB-C port on both sides. Sometimes the outlet is over here, and sometime's it's over there.

My computer rebooted, said I needed to accept some new Microsoft integration, didn't tell me what, offered Office365 again (and wouldn't move on til I said "I agree" on the notice that they would let me use it for free, which didn't install anything). And now has gone back to "everytime you put […]

I do like the bsky/fedi integration of the bridge, but sometimes I feel like trying to interact with unbridged users is making my followers' timelines look like I just joined an IRC channel using Microsoft Comic Chat.

@ezeeshady.bsky.social Bnuuy!

Love the art, may I follow? (Since I'm on Mastodon, I'd need you to opt into the bridge by following @ap.brid.gy - it doesn't connect without permission)

I just need to allow myself to do slightly shitty topology. I am making 3D characters with a reasonable understanding of topology flow, I don't have to redo it until it's perfect, I can just continue on to the next step T_T

So I have a gram scale that can read differences of up to .001 grams (milligrams). It's intended for checking the stylus weight of a needle, tho I'm using it to split one of my meds.

Getting something more sensitive from amazon is nearly impossible, and I don't understand why. Can't these […]

It's weird to me when I notice how physically-based my art styles tend to be. Like, even if something's super toony, it will never occur to me to leave a marking in-place on a character as, say, the opening for a mouth moves across it. Because I just understand all characters as physical things […]

When I was in college, I went to Half Price Books (a big used-media chain) on the regular, because that was what I could afford.

So one day, I bought the soundtrack/album CD for "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy". for like a couple dollars. Not particularly obscure, right?

There are at least two […]

[musing on common reactions to mh-]

It's a meme, at this point, that when you're depressed, people who don't understand will say "Well just stop being depressed!"

But I wonder if part of that is actually perceptive, like it's actually "Please stop *embodying* depression, a large part of the […]

Okay, so Bridgy treats bsky links as quotes automatically. That tracks with how I see them translated on this side.

I suspect if I was able to generate an actpub entry that was link type instead of post type with just the link, it would count it as a retweet, but I don't think Tusky or the […]
