It’s initially almost disconcerting the way he did it because we’ve grown so used to it being explained in fantasy. But in RSB’s books it’s just, “I hate them because of their religion” and you’re like, oh yeah. That’s what humans do.

Crazy thing is, he could say, “the shareholders are right. Cut my compensation in half and distribute the rest to the rank and file staff” and he would be celebrated as some kind of Robin Hood even though he’d still be making a grotesque *25 mil* for being a disaster at his job.
