You're perfectly safe if you don't break the law while on said protest, like trespass or otherwise. I'd reccommend having a bodycam recording your activity so that you have everything you did and things others did around you documented. It can be used as proof of your innocence if you get arrested.

You know how you can fight the "fash"? Voting and incentivizng people to join public safety/wellbeing initiatives. Most violent individuals come from troubled, underprivileged households, why don't you help there instead of pretending like you can outrun an organised police force?

Or you can, you know, obey the fucking police. While you're allowed to protest, you're not allowed for that protest to disrupt the regular flow of the day for people who just want to live their life that day. So with utmost kindness you deserve, shut the fuck up.

Depends what you think is a "legal protest". You'd be surprised how many people think they're allowed to trespass onto private property for a protest, or disturb traffic, saying that their protest is "peaceful" while they disturb said peace with their disruptive behaviour.

Number 1 already shows you have no knowledge on actual protests. In most cases, local authorities will require you to give them a heads-up, and you get a permit for a specific date. It's required by law, otherwise you'll disturb the regular flow of the day for a lot of people, which is a crime.
