I mean if you think about it, So getting married turns their brothers and sisters in your brothers and sisters and gives you their parents. So yeah, getting married is just a weird way to turn your partner into your sibling.

Also alot of references to comicbooks and contempory pop culture, fleeting ones not done in some stupid overt way in modern books where it wants to point out it made the reference, but something sly and small hidden in various points of the narrative. Actual Easter eggs.

What I found interesting, despite the outdated racial terms, there were alot of references to racist groups, neo Nazi bands, racial purity, but not a single slur was said until The Man With the Scarlet Eye gets involved.

I should note I like purple prose. The weaving of metaphor and bouncing in between povs, a real masterpiece.

For instance there's a part where you're sure, sure one character is going to die.

It doesn't, you're full of hope and then another character dies. Making it bittersweet

In TC both characters would have died and a third would have something worse happen to them.

Where TC seems designed to make you tap out, or if you're depressed push you to the edge until the literal final chapter. Swan Song seems designed to keep hope alive.

He says "the Card reader says I got money on it"

Tries to buy gas.

The pumps are still down.

Cycle starts again.
