From what I just posted to my Threads in response to his post (adjusted to account for character limits):

And they need to be reminded of this at every turn. From now to the midterms. They were complicit, even gleeful about stripping millions of Americans of their access to healthcare.
It’s a sad day in the BB fan community today. Mickey will always be remembered in BB lore for making two moves that doomed Rylie in the game: using her Interrogator power to successfully dethrone him as HoH and then winning the Blockbuster that led to his eviction (arguably the most satisfying).
Big Brother 27 houseguest Mickey Lee has passed away at the age of 35 after suffering from a series of cardiac arrests, her family announced today on Instagram.

I think the Shriners annual Christmas ad has broken my dad’s brain. (Well, not literally, but you get my point.)

He kept fixating on the Shriners Children’s logo and kept saying it wasn’t grammatically correct because it was a double plural.

The next post in my “Eurovision Countries in Five(-ish) Songs” is up, and it’s about Moldova! 🇲🇩

Epic Eurovision Memes: Moldova 🇲🇩 in Five(-ish) Songs
This off-season of Eurovision began relatively quietly, with the Eurovision 2026 host city — Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹 — being announced in August. But then, there was more radio silence. However, the new…

I’m not watching TFG’s speech, but I’m reading posts about it, and it’s honestly giving “This could have been put in an email” energy.

It was decided to interrupt the Survivor 49 finale for *this*?

About to dive into this chonk of a novel: “Infinite Jest” by David Foster Wallace.

And when I say “chonk”, I *mean* “chonk”! I weighed it on a kitchen scale. It clocks in at 2.5 pounds!

You know Weird Al is incensed if he breaks his own “no swearing” rule to do a fire 🔥 cover of Rage Against the Machine’s most iconic song. (Along with Jorma Taccone and Portugal. The Man.)

That said, it’s Reason Number 628 to Love Weird Al Yankovic.

Well, I guess he can no longer use his post-elimination confessional on Survivor as a scapegoat for why the writers didn’t vote him in.

I personally would have preferred to see Dale Murphy get in, but he did get enough votes to keep him out of the “consecutive five votes and you’re out” threshold.

You’re the Governor and you’re pretending not to understand the difference between grading and censorship.

No one was “penalized for their beliefs.”

Your performative outrage cheapens the First Amendment and insults every Oklahoma student who actually does the work.

My latest post over at my American Eurovision Nerd blog is up, and it’s all about Eurovision’s smallest active country, San Marino.
The Little Country That Could: San Marino 🇸🇲 in Five(-ish) Songs
The next country in my “Eurovision Countries in Five(-ish) Songs” series is one that is often seen as an eternal underdog in Eurovision, but is one of my personal favorite countries to cover: San M…

Mark Kelly flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, 4 Space Shuttle missions (2 as pilot, 2 as commander), fought cancer and won, and helped his wife recover from wounds suffered in an attempted assassination.

If that’s not being an American Badass, I don’t know what is.

I’ve finally finished “Ulysses”, thus conquering my latest Literary White Whale. 😅

I haven’t decided what to read next, but it’s definitely going to be a “fluff read”, and I have a bunch of them in my TBR bookcase, just random Bargain Bin hardcovers.

Chuck Schumer doesn’t just have egg on his face, he’s got an entire carton of them.

Senate Democrats need a shakeup in leadership, and the party as a whole may need to rebuild itself. We need candidates willing to stand up to the opposition, not give in to them.

Things seem to have improved for Roxy for now. I think what this experience has taught us so far is we’re gonna keep an eye on her and see how she’s doing. She doesn’t seem to be in severe pain at the moment and her energy is all right for her age.
November 4, 2025 at 7:23 PM
So, my dad and I have had a conversation and we are both in agreement that we will have to say goodbye to Roxy soon. I won’t go into details right now, but she’s been in a bit of decline recently and things have started getting more serious.
