This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

I'm also thinking tonight about all the fun people who kept saying "Trump only cared about states rights" and helped radicalize a generation towards authoritarianism, creators that were self proclaimed "moderates". US states are becoming war zones due to their 'benevolent' "states rights" leader.

I'm never going to be over how during his first term, and just before, people just kept repeating the phrase "there are checks and balances"whenever they wanted to downplay concerns people had about authoritarianism, look where we are now, where are these supposedly untouchable "checks and balances"

This has been a busy and rough year, that's for sure, I miss my chosen family so much, but this move still often proves itself as having been wildly necessary.

I loathe for when miscommunication happens over something generally low stakes like a game and people jump to assume malice in someonebeing rusty or new at a game.

When I think about it though, it's shallow in general to put games over real interactions with someone in the first place 💀

I am still a little shocked at times with how, blissfully ignorant? People are about how bad things were and have gotten in different parts of the US, and even about cultural differences around the US.

I keep hearing people from here and here alone call this the south, and it just isn't to me.

I wish people talked more about the experiences held by the children and forced co-habitants of extreme hoarders, often it seems all that's talked about are the people who choose to stay but have other options, pets, or the hoarders themselves -->

Both lead the country to believe there is a conflagration by highlighting a few fires over and over, while ignoring the fact that most people just want to live their lives without the government in their faces.

I don't think I can ever fully articulate how grateful I am for Carbondale Illinois as an ex-Alabamian, life there, at least for someone like me, was becoming deeply unsustainable, Carbondale has welcomed me and my husband with open arms, friendly faces and support we never experienced before.
