This is quite an investigation into ARC’s proposed restructure & job cuts by @jennaprice.bsky.social.

You know you’ve botched your “review” when several staff complain to a Senator!

ARC also ran a witch hunt to find people who might’ve “leaked”.

Ugly stuff.

"Ultimately, the collective strategy of AI companies threatens to deskill precisely those people who are essential for society to function. (...) automation of knowledge and culture by private companies is a worrying prospect – conjuring dystopian and outright fascistic scenarios."
“While the AI industry claims its models can “think,” “reason,” and “learn,” their supposed achievements rest on marketing hype and stolen intellectual labor. In reality, AI erodes academic freedom, weakens critical reading, and subordinates the pursuit of knowledge to corporate interests.”

In 2015 the gas cartel started exporting OUR gas (👇red👇). The domestic price went from $5 to >$18 per gigajoule, while the cartel promoted a lie that we have a shortage of gas. Govt could implement a gas reservation policy (like WA has) but puts the cartel before Australians. 1/2 #auspol

Treating housing as an investment vehicle rather than a human right, and something we want to be affordable and accessible, is having a huge impact on our society and future.

We have to start turning this around with sensible changes to our tax system.

Albanese’s Govt, and particularly Mark Dreyfus, have been underwhelming in their protection of whistleblowers. Their persecution of whistleblowers has had a chilling effect on whistleblowing across the country. Labor supporters expected much more. #auspol
Whistleblower persecutions. The cost of ignoring those who dare speak out. - Michael West
Whistleblowers are vital to protect our society against corruption and power abuse, yet they are often persecuted for speaking out.

Pelosi needs to go. She is a disgrace to the Democratic Party. I’m sick of her insider trading. She needs to retire and give the party back to the working class. If she actually cared about the U.S. she would’ve lifted up AOC and other young dems, but instead she only cares about herself.

How in the fuck do we live in a country where millions of Australians have massive HECS debts or can’t afford to get their teeth fixed purely because our government gives away billions and billions in Aussie natural gas to OS fossil fuel companies for free?
