a light meter, to fit on in the cold/hot shoe on top of a camera, if the camera doesn't have a meter, or it plain doesn't work anymore. like this beauty from ebay for £30 😊

it's to fit on the top of this entirely manual and mechanical half frame camera. when you load the film, you have to remember to set the counter dial to how many shots you've got (72 for a 36 full frame exposure roll) and then it counts down to zero. if you forget, you just have to guess 😆
