CONFIRMED: The prorogation will NOT impact the planned release of the report on foreign interference.

It will still be submitted to the government by January 31.

Here's what the folks behind the commission told me in an email just now:

Because our political leaders apparently won’t….

While a profoundly polarizing figure in Canadian politics, Justin Trudeau unquestionably served Canada for 9 years facing levels of toxicity that in many ways was unprecedented in Canadian politics, and he did so with a consistent dignity.

Not that enough people were talking about it before, but Trudeaus resignation really overshadows the fact that
‼️ PIERRE STILL DOESNT HAVE TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE! ‼️
#cdnmedia maybe it’s time to talk about that now that Trudeau is gone—before the election.

I’m feeling like it’s time to express far more of my Canadian political views publicly, with evidence and reasons attached. It’s frightening to see how much of people’s information sources come from what seem like soundbites, rather than having seen or heard primary sources.

NOPEEEE!!!! At what point at Poilievres lies considered slander? It’s too much. He’s going to destroy this country by spitting lies while trying to take it over. #cdnpoli
Pierre Poilievre says Justin Trudeau is an “authoritarian socialist” that wants to control every aspect of Canadians’ lives and all of the industries in the country.

You don’t have to like Trudeau to know that’s complete bullshit.

Happy New Year! Celebrating with my Haitian husband, today is filled with phone calls from around the world and the most delicious Soup Joumou, a Haitian specialty. For teachers, here’s a great book to share, “Freedom Soup,” by Tami Charles. There’s even a recipe inside. Enjoy!

Greetings from a high school English teacher. A few months ago, a high school teacher posted a list of several engaging poems she enjoyed using with high school students. I thought I had saved her list, but alas, it is in cyberspace. Does anyone have such a list by any chance? Many thanks.😊

Hello, language teachers. I am wondering if anyone might have multi-lingual lyrics (that work rhythmically) to “Feliz Navidad”. I have Spanish, Tagalog, English, and French. Gracias! Salamat! Thanks! Merci! 🎶

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

Restorative justice can play a key role in helping build safer communities.

It's a voluntary process that brings victims, offenders & community together to address the harm cause by crime - a different path to address needs & hold offenders responsible.

My unit is full of people dying from social neglect. Treating injustice and disparity with ventilators and vasopressors is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I could keep doing it if I knew that our provincial government was trying to fix the underlying problems.

Far be it from me to try to get in the heads of book banners, but the list of my books removed from schools makes absolutely no sense. Turtles is widely banned even though it's the least explicit of my novels (the main character is terrified of kissing), whereas TFIOS--where they DO IT--is not...

Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️

The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion.
When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!
