It’s well-known by Australian aboriginals that birds like kites and falcon spread wildfire, but western scientists still refuse to admit that non human can use it as a tool.

I have to admit that I would like to be the person in charge of this kind of ethno-etho-ecological research program !

It's easy to think of Climate Change and biodiversity collapse as two separate problems, but they are interlinked.
Take, for example, whales. They were a major driver of carbon from the ocean surface to the deep, but now...
Maybe their recovery will help.

“I think the only way we can start to address that mass extinction is if we have more humility in our relationship as part of just one other species in the web of life. We have lost that bedrock of pro-nature values…We need to restore that so we don’t have this casual attitude to ecocide.”

The ability of American people for volunteering and self-organisation on a local scale is really one of the few things I really admire about this country.

One can write an history of States failures and see it as a long tradition of untrusting the institutions, but here we are.

In the Maasai Mara, switching from communally owned forest to private ranches has devastating consequences for both biodiversity and human populations, and the ecosystem services’ loss now impacts the whole region.
