I have news. Wonderful news.

New paper on #disinformation. The title is the thesis. Think of disinformation as content that functions to optimise the decisions of the audience for the disinformant. This doesn't require deception or content that induces false belief.

Clayton Littlejohn, Disinformation is for Degrading the Value of Information, not Confirming Falsehoods - PhilPapers
According to a recent account of disinformation, disinformation is content that “generates ignorance” (Simion 2024a; 2024b). The view improves upon previous accounts that focused upon the potential fo...

I'm soon to embark on preparing a third edition of my Ethics and Public Policy book. If anyone has used it in teaching (or even read any of it) and has suggestions for changes I'd be very interested.

And yes, I do know, that, sadly Obama isn't President of the USA any more.

Lots of great content in the latest newsletter from the Society for Philosophy of Science in Practice (SPSP is so good at fostering community). If you scroll all the way to the last feature I pour my heart out in the Proust Questionnaire. So good of Saana Jukola to give me the opportunity 🙏
ok, so I'm in serious procrastination mode, which led me to read the SPSP-newletter cover to cover, enjoying the interview with @annaalexandrova.bsky.social (among other things)!

My student Arlene Lo has a paper on the philosophical underpinnings of Canada's attempts to integrate Indigenous groups into its environmental impact assessments. It's now out in (appropriately enough!) the Canadian journal of philosophy. It's good, check it out!

The future is AI vs "Nay, I"
That feeling when someone says "I love your jumper, where did you get it?" and you *finally* get to say "I made it" and they give a look of admiration.

Plug that into my feckin veins.
