Old Geek. Old Greek. Left Twitter as it was making me feel ill.

Is there anything more 60s than this gorgeous Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD cover? Jim Steranko, Pop-Art genius.

Wonderful old photo of Cybermen in the 60s outside Ealing studios. Guessing they are waiting for the 65 bus. I’m guessing during the filming of Moonbase sequences. Love the pointy fingers.

Russian pop-up books. Let’s teach those kids about tanks and missiles. From St. Petersburg, 10

Eeeuuchh! I can only hope you were only caught peeing in the water. Best skip over that swimming pool daintily without tripping over…

Residents and lovers of Brighton, please attend. Two views of the Brighton Chain Pier from the 1800s, on show at the splendid Constable and Turner exhibition @ Tate Britain.

JMW Turner’s fan art for The Horror of Fang Rock. Who knew? Turner and Constable at Tate Britain. Not sure that I’ve ever enjoyed an exhibition more than this.

Could be wedding bells for old prune face and Babs, Queen of the Space Dhrahvins? Have booked a Premier Inn just outside Basingstoke as their wedding venue, with a local branch of Greggs doing the catering, no expense spared.

Beautiful. Apologies, I’m sure this has been pointed out to you many times, but did something in your past plant the idea of this place in your mind? Not judging - I once bought a dark green VW Passat as it reminded me of Thunderbird 2.

Frank Bellamy is still my favourite comics/graphic artist. He produced better work than any celebrated Pop Artist I’ve ever seen. I’d put him higher than recognised geniuses of the art form like Jim Steranko and Jack Kirby. He’s up there with Herge and Will Eisner. Underrated English genius.

“What was your #ChildhoodCinema?”

Muswell Hill Odeon in the 60s and 70s! Memories: falling onto the floor with laughter with my dad watching The Producers in an otherwise empty cinema; seeing a moon buggy in my first Bond; being entranced by Fantasia while the rest of my school said “It’s boring!”

Is it just me or is she definitely becoming more Ogron with each passing episode? Distant cousin, Gruntleigh? Have you ever considered growing a fringe?

Also has a rather incredible “Spartacus” moment. I won’t spoil it, but it’s a real statement about he power of theatre and how compassion and empathy can unite us. Seemed like a particularly pertinent message for this current messed up world…

Go and see Hamnet! It’s not an easy ride - I’ve never cried so much at a film. But it’s beautifully made and the performances are deeply moving. Unexpectedly, it has the best portrayal of the ghost of Hamlet’s father I’ve ever seen: not as an angry revengeful spirit but as a symbol of grief.

As terrifying as the Hound of the Baskervilles, only with more fluff. All she wants for Christmas is a sausage.

Classic Japanese images of Winter: ethereal beauty and technical precision. The first, with the eagle, is by Hiroshige I believe. Apologies, can’t credit the next two.

Winter Solstice - random images. Love this day, can’t explain why. Genetic memory of pagan times? Remnants of Sun, Moon, Star worship? Seems oddly spiritual. 🤷‍♂️

Marley and the ghosts of Christmas present and future. The best Christmas story ever written inspired some beautiful illustrations.

Antique Toyshop, Copenhagen. Treading that fine line between charming and disturbing, which seems to be the natural Twilight Zone for old toys. Perhaps the shop is run by the Celestial Toymaker…

Rather sweet. Old phone boxes become Story Museums, Oxford. All very Oliver Postgate and Bagpuss.

Winter, outside looking in. Milton Caniff’s the first one - apologies after that. Random saved pictures that I like but I’m unaware of the artists.
