If you're ever in doubt, just use Signal with the usernames feature. Don't use any of those "signal alternative" apps unless a cryptographer AND a software dev have reviewed them. Matrix is better than nothing, but vulnerable to some protocol weaknesses that a three-letter-agency might exploit.

This includes stuff that is morally good, like offers to share HRT. Even in cases where buying DIY is legal, *distributing* it usually is not. Same with protesting - you have a right to protest, but some governments have weakened the right to *organize* a protest. Keep those conversations private!

Monado. SteamVR doesn't work at all properly on NixOS, but Monado was mereky janky. this is the FOSS desktop experience.

Whether it's genuine or not I don't think this says good things about his ability to moderate this largely *community based* project if his team couldn't even properly handle a discord server. On basically day 1.
