Three Yale professors who have written extensively on authoritarianism are leaving the U.S. “We’re like people on the Titanic saying our ship can’t sink,” Marci Shore said. “And what you know as a historian is that there is no such thing as a ship that can’t sink.”

The decision by these three Yale professors to move to Canada is both a warning and a call to action.

People who know about plants… is this Angelica? It’s about 3-4 feet high, yellowy green flowers. The leaves aren’t feathery or pinate.
#edibleplants or #poisonousplant ? Advice please

It's Wednesday tomorrow.

#buyastrangerabook day!

People are amazing and buy strangers books!

And people ask for books too.

It's probably the best thing that ever happened on Bluesky.

As of this week I’m no longer working full-time and now I have plenty of time to write. Except - the sun was shining and the #magnolias were out and I popped down to Kew Gardens instead. Shame there’s no alt way to share the scent of the hyacinths.#KewGardens

There has been a lot of chatter today about Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, some regarding this moment when White House correspondent Brian Glenn asked if the Ukrainian president plans to wear a suit. I want to address idea in this thread. 🧵

Lovely walk in Boscastle - and maybe I’ve imbibed too much of Christmas and am now seeing things - but am I the only one who looks at this pic and sees a turtle chatting to a snake? What would Rorschach think?

So nice when someone tells you they’ve bought your book as a Christmas present.
(If you fancy a book for Christmas, ‘Finding Jack’ is available from all the usual places. Link in bio!)

Got to admit to being (a bit) obsessed with the sunglasses. Is it just to get people like me asking why? So pics of her (with him) go up the algorithm? Is it deliberate? Am I overthinking this?

Been messing about with AI and image creation, making content about my stories. I need to work on my prompts a bit but this is Ed & Lily, pondering their will-they-won’t-they future.
