Sol mentioned this and its really a very superficial conversation here but such an important one to have in depth, especially for PARENTs of trans masc kiddos. Binding for many trans masc humans is super important and part of supporting them is understanding why and helping them safely bind.

What gives me hope for love is seeing real couples who have been together for decades still in love. You can always tell by the look in their eyes. Romantic love may not be for me, but they are proof that it still exists even during these dark times.

The more people accept chest dysphoria and offer solutions instead of being weird and gross about how we should "love our breasts" the less young transmascs will feel the need to bind via unhealthy means

Maybe I'll talk about it more in depth at some point, but the crux really is acceptance and accessibility of binders made for long term wear, if you are forced to bind with tape and bandages, sometimes you just take your only option

Which is probably why transitioning made me meaner, now that I think about it, but yeah I think there's a way to explore it w/o placing transmascs in proximity to womanhood when the idea is that we're pushing that role away from ourselves

I simply have had trouble writing, and I'm almost never a fast writer anyway. Some of these guys are trans, some are cis, I don't feel like specifying bc the reason people see trans men as "less evil" is bc you perceive us in proximity to womanhood--

transitioning just makes things more complicated, I'm more into men now, but I'm in a long term relationship anyway, and even if that fell out I'd probably just date other trans people LOL

this all being said, I think most people, regardless of identity, can relate to the discussion in this article

I'm not a lesbian, the closest I got was when I was a transmasc egg I was out as a bi or pan woman, and I openly had a strong preference for women and would reject men on that front, and yeah there is a certain kind of way you're treated when you don't make yourself available to men :/

Really good article, it goes into the complexity of gender and sexuality and how they intermingle as identity, which for obvious reasons is highly related to societies general treatment of women
