UK devotes a smaller % of its GDP to state pension, pensioner benefits than most developed countries..
2024-25: Govt spending £137.5bn on the state pension,pensioner benefits, 5.2% of GDP.
France spends, 13.5%.

What I hate about having written this book is the knowledge that some people who see the title will write it off as some shit "Remember the 80s?" pop culture nostalgiafest. I promise it is anything but. Neither is it the book it seems to be, 3 chapters in. But you'd need to read it to find that out.
