TTRPG Tip 100. Whatever it is you want to do in the TTRPG field, do it! Someone out there will dig it. Start small, and do the thing completely and to the best of your ability. Share it, take feedback, and then do the next thing. Be realistic in your expectations and fearless with your execution.

My primary craft advice for video game writing is actually to study every other kind of writing.

Things I’ve written for games: live action scripts, poems, slugs, taglines, screenplay-style cutscenes, in-universe metafiction, songs, weapon and company names, barks, mottos, and so forth.

1. Raye was my hyper fixation this year. Beautiful music that fits all my moods.
2. Quasi was the best concert this year. They played “Featuring “Birds” head to toe. #Raye #Quasi

Amazing how a few hours of D&D with friends can rejuvenate my soul.

I’ve started reading “Into the Wyrd and Wild” and “The Dark of Hot Springs” (thanks @coorac.bsky.social for the rec!) and love the system neutral approach to these books. Easy application and so versatile.

I recently dove into the osr movement and have been obsessed. So many options. So many takes on how to run a game. I am not burned out by 5e, but instead kindled a fire I didn’t know I had. #osr #ttrpg

I got into TTRPGs by listening to Harmontown. Dan, Jeff, Erin, and Spencer were hilarious casting RAY OF FROST and shooting poison daggers “to your heart”. My friends and I tried to replicate and failed miserably. But we ended up playing consistently for seven years. So thankful.
