Souled American’s seventh album—said since December 1997 to be nearing completion—is at last sequenced, mastered, and done. The band is in talks with several labels. Expect details soon.

In late-July 1989, a few months after the release of Flubber, the band arrives in California and the LA Weekly celebrates them thus: "funky hillbilly-rock that captures the dark, charred heart and speed-addled brain of the American truckstop spirit..."

I love this scrap. While sequencing their second album "Flubber," Souled American heard that Rough Trade label-mates The Feelies called them the "most musically talented on our roster."

The LA folks at the label releasing the forthcoming SA anthology were hit hard by the recent tragedies. Please please please consider purchasing something from the Omnivore Records website to help them rebuild.
