Hello Bluesky! We are South Bay Forward, a volunteer-based YIMBY group in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County.

We organize for more housing, transit, and mobility to build a more inclusive, equitable, and affordable region.

What’s special about this extension is the A Line, since entering service in 2003 as the Gold Line, is now very much part of the culture of the San Gabriel Valley.

HS students grow up riding it, people are accustomed to using it, electeds are all on board, & there’s a built-in community of support.

El Segundo is one of the cities benefitted by this carve-out.

The city has resisted zoning for housing east of PCH, and has a disproportionately low residential pop compared to number of jobs.

We took the K line to Fairview Heights and used the new Rail to Rail south LA bike path to get to #CicLAvia.
A 2-way bike path and a concrete sidewalk separated by a bioswale planted with native plants

Metro has released the Final EIR for the C Line Extension to Torrance project.

Hmm, what could have caused this fence to bend like that?

A car. It’s always the cars and the drivers.
Beachfront staircase with cones and temporary guardrails as well as a low fence mangled and warped to the ground South Bay Scanner • Follow 1d • @ South Redondo: At appx 5:20am this morning, RBFD was dispatched to a single vehicle injury crash with airbag deployment (involving a BMW convertible) at Knob Hill/Esplanade. Somehow, the driver drove down the side of the hill via that little pedestrian walkway/ stairs just west of where Knob Hill ends. RBPD was on scene almost immediately and had the suspect/ patient (driver) detained on Esplanade somewhere between Topaz/Sapphire. Sounds like PD transported the driver to the hospital?
