At this point, what you make at home is almost certain to be better than what you would eat at pretty much any of these chains.

Any cooking skill, at all, will produce better results.

It’s not only playgrounds that are important, but Tom Hayes is right to underline the critical value of play in children’s lives.

Play is instinctive, natural, and essential. But it’s being eroded.

❌ 800 playgrounds closed in the last decade
❌ 2 million children live >10 mins from one
❌ In Bournemouth East, only 35% of children live within reach of a play area

If you are uncritically reporting on a new event, comedy festival, app, or virtual museum that notes that “Funding for the project was provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”—then you are not doing it right. They are laundering their reputation for killing journalists.

On Monday, UNESCO, the cultural arm of the United Nations, launched the world's first virtual museum of stolen cultural objects, which lists thousands of artifacts that can be viewed in 3D form.
The initiative was launched at UNESCO's World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development in Barcelona. The virtual museum was designed by the architect Francis Kéré in collaboration with the Ir'ernational Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Blustery day, isn't it? Here's the National Grid: Live generation data. Wind and solar are generating 74.2% of our electricity. Gas is generating 13.1%. And yet our household electricity prices are pegged to... the volatile price of gas. Which is the basis on which the right attacks... renewables.

An interesting post from veteran Interoperability expert Kevin Mayfield on openhealthhub.org today.

A "Two Tier Technical NHS" is how he describes it.

wonder what people think of the article and whether they have views to contribute, here or on OHH itself.

Here a thing you can do to stay turning the tide:

Make sure everyone you know who is a gig worker, member of a union, or involved in running a union reads this report:

CARDboard Illustrative Aid to Computation - CARDIAC
The Cardiac - "CARDboard Illustrative Aid to Computation", a blue cardboard computer resembling a calculator wheel. Device left is the output strip. In the left half is the 'accumulator', which is altered by three cardboard strips; a flowchart gives instructions on how to interpret the 'command' at any given step. On the right half is the memory, which is able to be written to by the human operator's pencil; to the left of each slot is a space for the operator to put a 'bug' which acts as the instruction pointer

I still don’t understand how the smart people in Labour are turning victory into defeat and selling out the most vulnerable in our communities. Maybe it is structural.

Watch what's just about to happen to the legal principle called "Gillick competence", named after the person who tried to stop it heppening. Bigoted parents will demand the right to control their children. We must not let them!
