I know that worse things have happened but horrible candidates usually win anyway *appealing to their own base, then earning the other side's respect*, not the other way around 😩

Again, maybe I'm really naive but im allowed to dream, and its not that farfetched

It just seems really really obvious that appealing to the other side on issues that *your* side hates will just make the other side go "ok, cool. But we already have someone who agrees with us even more, so no thanks"

But who even knows how things work right now
