People need to learn about their collective economic impact. It's at least a good place to start. And if people are prepared, they can go longer than one day. No one says it ends tonight.

Trump fired Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., only the second Black Joint Chiefs chairman, replacing him with a little-known retired general. Six Pentagon officials were dismissed, including top Navy and Air Force leaders.

Sure! but lots of people.. maybe even the majority of people in Russia (we can't know because polling is meaningless), all "know" it's a sham. There's a point when people just become tired and complacent, assuming the government doesn't immiserate the populace too much.

The only approval a dictator needs to concern themselves with (when they have the army) are those that hold the keys to power. In this case, the oligarchs, and his loyalist base. But even his base are sacrificial, once he's ended real elections. People really need to read "the dictator's handbook"

They only care when it can actually affect them. I don't think they're concerned with future elections or protests. Hence why they are replacing the heads of military. They're expecting mass protest.

The difference is those poles they do mean nothing, because no one can actually say what they feel. And the elections are full of ballot stuffing. There were protests at one time, but they silenced them with military police and disappearing people.

I'm afraid there's a lot of this optimism right now. But authoritarians don't care about their real approval. Especially when they have a strangle on the military command. It will be up to the officers and soldiers now to refuse unlawful orders. Hopefully people wake up soon.
