(To be clear, the fear was that I should never go to sea because anything would make me sick. I’m sure I’d feel rotten in a big sea but I’ve proved to myself I can function fairly normally in 2-3m waves which is a huge victory!)

Working on eating greener/more local. There’s an urban farm not 200m from my flat where you can pay a fiver for a mystery bag of seasonal veg. Today I got courgette, runner beans, and spring onion!

(What, just move to the many financially secure institutions of the United Kingdom? If you don’t keep up with UK higher ed news, then you may not recognize that’s a darkly bitter joke.) Some folks will find moving abroad attractive but it is simply not possible for the 1.4 million U.S. post-secondary instructors to just move to Canada.
