Sure did! Blew the CT26's turbine's oil seal, yanked the engine for a 1JZ which I never got running properly. One of my big Car Regrets™.

Caption this photo! 😂

My brother and his wife live on a farm, and he sent this a few minutes ago.

Loved mine. Great little Swiss army knife of a car. Zippy runabout 90% of the time, but swallows larger payloads when you need it to. Plus it could be optioned with 3 pedals.

Oh that's lovely. The ivy on the doors is a 🤌 touch.

Looks like I'll have a place to park my racer!

Depends whether you mean becoming a car buff, or turning a wrench. I knew a lot of "theory" before I had any "practice."

Back in college, I did an engine swap between another FB RX-7 and this one. Loved (almost) every minute. That was ground zero for my shadetree mechanic hobby.

I don't know that I would rule out simply owning a car purely on unreliability grounds.

Daily driving, on the other hand... 😕

Still, even as a weekend fun car, something like a Gamma Coupe would be challenging.

You should! I've owned 2. Loved 'em both.

There are SO many flavors to choose from, and they ain't getting any cheaper!

Those are good! Relatedly, I've always thought "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" was a pretty metal Christmas hymn:

And finally, a pair for @mtdrift.bsky.social and @petrospect.blog.

A bit too much wheel for me on the Aston, but it was super clean.

More highlights.

Some notables from the final C&C of the season 'round here.

Someone sure does love his dad.

Her thoughts: I bet he's thinking about other girls.

His thoughts: It's wild how the "intercooler" on early Ford 2.3 turbo engines amounts to just some large fins on the charge pipe. 😵‍💫😮

My dad is scanning slides now. This is from the 1979 Monaco GP. Can any F1 nerds ID the car and driver?

Smol Matt in France, 1981, clearly more interested in the crosswalk stripes than the nearby Citroën GS.

Nope; you never do. I think about it when the weather turns and it starts to feel cold like it did that morning.

Soloing a taildragger! That's impressive. And your airport looks almost as small as the one I learned on. We called it "the Toothpick." 😁

In which it occurs to me that it's been exactly 20 years and 2 weeks since I soloed.

More Valkyrie things. RIP AV/2. 😢

Yep! Here's a pic of the Turbines/T-Stars "naked." The car can be driven around perfectly fine without either cover; many owners do.

Alpina wheels are lovely, but I prefer the classic ones with the black centers.
November 10, 2025 at 6:12 PM
I think that's an M-Tech 2 wheel? Regardless, it's beautiful. ❤️

Here's a recent one that stood out to me. The car it's attached to is far from my first choice, but the steering wheel is nice! 😅
November 10, 2025 at 4:18 PM
*I actually hate that wheel* 🫣

But mostly because of the gorgeousness that followed...

Had one; can attest to its goodness. 👍
November 10, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Good ones! BMW has so many good wheels to choose from; I feel like I should have asked for their *worst* OEM wheels. 😅

It's a living.

Mildly ashamed to admit I didn't know page corner bookmarks existed until yesterday afternoon.
