Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.

Fundamental to Twain’s understanding of democracy is that nobody wants to hold high office except thieves, swindlers, & autocrats, & the way elections minimize the corrupt exercise of government is not by empowering noble men, but by making the crooks compete with one another in perpetuity.

The waves of awful, the Broligarchy, the Heritage foundation, Maga, Trump, etc. feels like a tsunami.
I hope it is more akin to the corpse flower that in it's flowering is too odorous to be ignored. And that it doesn't last.
