The original translation was *appalling* (full of arrogance, egos, and really bad writing) but it was incredibly satisfying to fix the complete shitshow they made of it. It's how I first got into games translation, too, so they did me a favour by being so crap. 😂

Oh man, this reminds me of translating a game set in a fantasy world that's modelled on middle ages Europe but with all newly invented country names, and one character's fave food was パンペルデュ... which is usually "French toast" in English. 😭

The sad thing is it was one of the least offensive things they did in their translation. XD There's a reason I got hired to fix the whole thing!
But yeah, whew, I still remember reading it & their comment justifying it and wanting to tear out my hair. Just don't, people!

I'm not ignoring a deadline. I'm hyper cognizant of it, I'm waking up in a cold sweat about it.
I'm not doing things I'd rather do than work. I'm desperately wanting to start doing work I love and am good at, but can't begin, and instead loading up a flash game that's all I can manage to do.

I will never forget the awful game translation I was hired to fix eons ago where, amongst many other awful things, they randomly invented a currency (and tried to justify the need) all so a character could say "florin for your thoughts?" which he never needed to say.

(If you choose just the LE Blu-ray set, I'd simply take it out of the box set and put the DVD version in for my friend instead.
I can do this because the LE Blu-ray set included in the box set is separately packaged/wrapped, and is exactly the same as the version sold separately.)
