i mean, the ideal of socialism typically is the control of the means of production in the hands of the working class, something that in my view is antithetical to economic liberalism (for better and worse), and ultimately unrelated to social liberalism.

under this definition no socialist state, such as Maoist China or the USSR, would be socialist
