Mental illness is not a dark chapter on your life that you move past completely. It is often a lifelong, treated and managed condition in a best case scenario. And a lot of "mental health advocates" assume that if you aren't instantly cured by therapy, you're doing something wrong. (Link below)

It's not just the "weird" mental illnesses (ie: Kanye West) that make people uncomfortable. People who "support" mental health awareness only support it in the abstract, and freak out when witnessing real mental illness--yes, even "cute" or acceptable types. Link in replies.
