An article that combines my interest in all-cotton undergarments with that which is of more general interest as well. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/10/s...

By all means critique what you think you see. It just seems an odd bone to pick with someone for writing an article (in a Jewish pub at that!) saying that Jewish antizionists are *not* antisemites. I feel like there might be other people more productive to be arguing with on these matters.
phoebebovy.bsky.social
Yes I did! I said "in part." It was an article about where two groups of antizionists differ *with respect to attitudes towards Jews* and not getting into who prioritizes which goal they hold how much. The thing you're disagreeing with isn't what I think and isn't in my piece.

I never said the thing you're disagreeing with? I'm saying that Jewish antizionists, like Jews who are not antizionists, tend not to take positions whose end point is 'a world without Jews'

I don't know if she's a Republican, I do know that this is just a normal if not always delightful part of the working world.

As I said, it's not about needing to love Bari Weiss's management technique. It's about whether to attribute it to Elon Musk and to read something MAGA into it.
phoebebovy.bsky.social
Exactly. No one said it's an unstressful thing to happen at work but it's not some Muskian innovation!

I don't know why this bothers me. I promise that it's not that I identify more with being on the asking than asked end of things because nope. It might be as quaint as this bothering me As A Jewish Woman. Be mad at people for legit reasons only please!!
phoebebovy.bsky.social
YES. I'm not saying anyone has to enjoy being asked that question generally or by Weiss specifically but it is not sinister or new!

I know the law is to treat Bari Weiss's career trajectory as the key unlocking the universe but I'm pretty sure 'new boss asks employees to describe what they do and what is/isn't working at the company' predates DOGE.

News: Bari Weiss just sent a memo to staffers at CBS News asking them to produce a memo explaining "how you spend your working hours—and ideally, what you've made (or are making) that you're most proud of."

One CBS News staffer puts it like this to me: "We just got Elon Musked."

We don't know why RFK Jr. is talking about circumcision and autism. We've never walked a mohel in his shoes

Anyway, I am trying to remain optimistic about: 1) Mideast peace and 2) a change to the Canada Post strike strategy that might permit the bras I long ago ordered (and, fine, other mail as well) to reach its destination

(People do realize this was a joke right, or am I now on an 'accounts that think Trump deserved Nobel' blocklist?)
phoebebovy.bsky.social
They could even invent a special Worst Guy Good Point Nobel!

Thus the question mark at the end of my post title! It seems clear there is more spending on dorm decor happening. But it's less clear of subcultures themselves have changed that much.
