Reformed S1E6, Spinning, is pretty Seinfeld-ian. An Alsatian woman gives away an armchair her grandfather looted from a Jewish house. The Holocaust museum refuses to accept it.
The synagogue owner hires an ex-IDF security, upset when it's a woman who doesn't speak French (Darya Sheizaf).

School season is ending in Australia (well it's spring going to summer there) and instead of Bali or Gold Coast, the safety first generation is going to Japan.

Flight Centre reveals top overseas ‘schoolies’ spot, and it isn’t Fiji or even Bali
Think Schoolies and your thoughts probably drift to the Gold Coast, or more recently, overseas jaunts to popular hangouts like Fiji, Vanuatu, Thailand and of course, Bali.

A 87 yo stepuncle just died, and my aunt's main concern is she doesn't want her sister at the funeral.

Meanwhile I'm also concerned about my parents esp dad. Moments when I really regret I didn't choose Australia (ironically step uncle's child is a Melburnian who cannot come and entrusts aunt).

We had some pirated Betamax tapes that were mixed of Disney cartoons c1950s, with some random Disneyland promo videos at the end. Of course I preferred those promo segments.
When I worked at my local video store and you came in on a Friday night looking for a Disney tape to rent, we were often out of most titles, but we did have a few "other" Disney tapes. Today on the Video Store Podcast I recommend those Other Disney Tapes.

Reformed S1E5, The Rebellious Son, is the most exciting/brutal I've seen so far. A son in a pork-eating family turns Orthodox. Next thing I see, the liberal rabinne fights with the (married) rabbi she just flirted with in an interfaith panel, and viral videos label her an anti-patriarchy hero.

You might read this story better than I am, but a performative male contest was also held in Indonesia months ago. I thought the term was mocking and everyone would be cynical about it...and yet it goes on. From perhaps ironic to be something new?

The rise of the ‘performative male:’ How young men are experimenting with masculinity online
Gen Z’s ‘performative male’ trend is both mocked and embraced because it exposes deep cultural contradictions around what we expect of masculinity today.
