In no timeline I can still be mutuals with many Indonesians I knew. Even if I were as woke I was in 2018.

Their justification of 7 Oct, 2 years on, is just incomprehensible. Especially the Chinese women living with the knowledge of May 98.

I want to know why.

That's awful, and it's a pretty moto-garden. Wish the City would deal with real violations instead.

This appeared in my backyard this morning. Thank you to whoever is in charge of this sort of thing. It injected me with optimism.

Ah, lucky you. I meant to read the whole Kat Rosenfield's archive but no such joy.

I've been a free subscriber for 4 years, that's how I knew and opened Substack. On Monday morning it said all articles were opened. Then on Tuesday the socials said just new articles.

“What is good for a person—a fulfilling, loving, stable relationship—is thin gruel for a poet,”

Happy that I can read Kat's column of this week (expected the whole archive from 2021 lol)

So TFP free access week is limited to new articles. Making the best of the offer with this read. 🇸🇪

Thank you. I was pondering why perhaps none of my progressive ex-mutuals reexamine their views after these two years.

The Blackwell's link recommended by Emma at the end of the interview didn't work for me, but the good news is Father Figure hardcover is coming to Australia, and is available in e-book and audiobook forms now.

A reminder that today also marks the start of Sukkot (for that reason, btw, many Jews will once again be offline/not working today). Here, Mijal Bitton reflects on the convergence of the holiday with the Oct. 7 anniversary: mijal.substack.com/p/the-sukkah...

This book means more to me than any other book I have written. I want to get copies into the hands of everyone who cares about opera or is interested in the broader cultural history of our country.

Please consider buying a copy. Thank you. 🙏

It's 7 Oct 2025 in Australia.

Fitzroy is a gentrified inner suburb of Melbourne.
