A cop and a taoist priest ! I didn't expect this combination but I can see it since he put it like that

There's gotta be a Taoist in this mix. I know the drill

Jeremy Tiang translated Hunter and he's become one of those translators I always keep an eye for. I loved Beijing Sprawl.

I was very tempted by Hunter the other day. Picked up Bora Chung's Midnight Timetable and Harpman's Orlanda instead but I Still wish I had gotten it too. That's book greed for you.

Inadvertently found some of Jim Bachor's mosiac work to my great delight. Found on the corner of Van Buren and Michigan, near the Fine Arts Building. "Here lies a pothole 2005-2024"
Fine mosiac work (like you'd see in a fine old building) filling in a sidewalk pothole. The epitaph in the middle of the mosiac: Here lies a pothole 2005-2024

What!! You definitely upped the hardness level by adding that one. I hope you are properly hydrated now? And with a very nice drink too--which you fully deserve!

I can only do three hours with my parental units. Tops. There's such a sweetness when leaving and returning to one's own world

*clapclapclapclapclap* a fine feat! Five hours is no joke.

Three apples fell from heaven: the first, for the one who told the tale, the second for the one who listened, and the third for the one who understood. This is the way most Armenian fairytales end.

My other choice was Pixie Crunch (!!!) if you happen to get some, let me know how they are. It was so hard to chose between the two

ICE unleashed tear gas on the street in Chicago’s Logan Square today and I tried to find meaning among the fog and my own anger about, well, everything. dansinker.com/posts/202…

It's sweet, fresh, and pleasing tart. No doubt because it's related to Jonathan apples (I crave their tartness every fall).

It was hard to choose just one bag of apples but it came down to Crimson Crisp. And now I can't stop eating them.

My new copy's cover is appropriately jaunty. The old one is a tie-in for the movie, which is still up there among my favorite films. The cast! And watching it is what first introduced me to Stella.
Now is indeed a fine time for excellent comfort reads.

That's hilarious. What a perfect cover

She must be in the air right now. I recently ordered a copy of Cold Comfort Farm--only to find my old copy, previously thought to be lost, a few days later. Thankfully there are worse things than two copies of a Stella Gibbons book.
