I couldn’t resist doing a tiny post-jam update! The easy mode starts easier and has a tutorial graphic.

The game is more fun with the pink dolphin sprites. I want to make the dolphin color selectable, but it might be pink-only for the jam version (priorities).

Day 4 of the jam and the blocks keep falling. Today I added DAS and a "DASh" button to the controls, a basic HUD, and worked on music. I'm still delaying sprite work until I finalize the block size, but I have a plan 😅

#FallingBlockJam Day 3! Still working out mechanics, very placeholder everything. My idea is you are a dolphin pushing and flipping stacks above the water to form rainbows. The challenge is efficient movement and managing "coyote time". Still early, but I think there's promise.

Day 2 of Falling Block Jam! Everything is placeholder as I'm still testing a concept. I still haven't finished implementing the controls, but I can confirm that blocks are falling!

Nice! One of the things on my TODO list is to get my C++ SDL wrapper building with emscripten before the falling block game jam. In theory it should work, but I'm kind of dreading it 😅

Yes! The game runs unlocked by default. The difference can be subtle because the pieces move one block at at time, but animations and controls run at higher refresh rates.
