A Sketch of night herons at the zoo is the latest adventure in my sketchbook…
When drawing night herons, they will tolerate you just enough to get their shape. Then they will abruptly move. It’s their way of teaching you to draw from memory. Clearly.

I’ve never been to Australia, so it amazes me that these run wild there. I’ve only seen them at zoos. There are so many creatures in this world and so little time to see them in their natural habitats 😕

As a #wildlifeartist, sometimes you draw animals from life that are curious or don’t mind much, like birds.
But sometimes your subject is absolutely terrified of you and thinks you are the scariest monster in the world, like Patagonian Maras.
