Richard Donner’s SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE premiered at The Kennedy Center on December 10, 1978. There would be no modern superhero films if not for its groundbreaking commitment to verisimilitude in bringing Superman to the big screen, and Christopher Reeve’s iconic portrayal of sincere heroism.
