I’m not sure i’ve ever heard of this practice. Is this a Southern/midwestern thing?

There are many my age or even older who would call my single income childless life savings of 3k a privilege and luxury too. I can hardly even blame them given how hard I’ve worked to get so little. The media’s deeply out of touch if it thinks my generation in large has the means to raise kids

I’m 31 and have never tasted the succor of financial stability in my life despite working 2+ jobs for 8 years. I’ve lived in city apartments, w/ my family paying rent, & in a sublet suburban house. I’ve worked & avoided wasteful excess for 8 yrs & have 3k to my name.

I’m never having kids.

I’m safe but if i need help I will make it known. Just gunna be increasingly broke if car repairs drag on.

I have a Swedish partner who's indicated she's willing to move back home if politics in this country become so unstable that even the Sanctuary States are unlivable, so I'm not as desperate in these respects as some might be. These are trying times for many rn.

Thank you very much for the offer. At the moment I'm still hoping I can plan at least a few months in advance and I have what I consider "safe housing" with the potential of local employ until the end of March. If things get drastically worse at a rapid clip though I'll keep that in mind.

I've been spending what time I've had to myself listening to lectures and taking Coursera classes. I'm currently looking into options, Academic or employment-based, that would enable me to live outside of the US, but I haven't had the opportunity yet to seriously consider my options.
