First time in East Africa (Uganda) and I am having a good time. I keep being offered fruits (Pineapples and Mangos) but I only have eyes for plantains. Ate roasted plantains off the street, and decent fried plantains too. Having a blast.

Sora is not the real problem here. The real problem is that in 12, at most 24 months, there will be a Sora clone from Tencent or Alibaba that is just as good and can be run by anybody with a 5099, at which point everyone in society needs to rapidly agree to treat all digital video as fake, period.

One of the best staff-level engineers I worked in the past with is on the market.

This is someone who will not fire off a single job application: already interviewing at companies where ex-colleagues heard he's on the market. Even if not hiring, they are creating space for him.

Now I’m not saying high school is the be all, but if your parents are profs and you can’t learn the easy game that is HS school, well that’s a bad sign.

phase transitions: since economic systems are dynamical, if pt exist they should be dynamical. I didn't study dynamical pt, are they essentially the same except for the time component? For the 1st order you look at discont 1st derivative, and 2nd order discont 2nd deriv?

robocalls: the idea is to introduce frictions by pricing calls $0.01 or some amount which quickly makes it impossible to scale without enduring significant cost which defeats the purpose of robocalls.

We need similar mechanisms to prevent overflow in every communication networks.
