Here's the name of the article by the authors (which originally showed on the NYT front page as well). 30 minutes later it was changed to "A New Era of Strongman Rulers Has Begun" on the digital front page. Big difference in framing. Don't count on big media to help us.

The bs on the US trade page is unbelievable. "Parameter values for ε and φ were selected. The price elasticity of import demand, ε, was set at 4. The elasticity of import prices with respect to tariffs, φ, is 0.25." Note that 4*.25 = 1 so ε and φ are bs "greek" constants that cancel out.

This poll was taken prior to Schumer's retreat and I can't imagine his weakness helped. Not sure the party will hold together... and maybe it shouldn't.

Trump certainly isn't popular and they framed his numbers in an everyone gets a trophy way, but they were pretty quiet about the Dems numbers, which (IMHO) is the more devastating story. And this poll was taken before Schumer's decision.
