Short poles rose from the snow bordering the path, sending wires out to lash around the goblins. Tiny women screamed in shock as wires wrapped around their ankles, dragging them back towards the path. Spears were thrown, clattering uselessly against the poles, as the entire goblin invasion force was slowly dragged along the path leading from the front drive to the main entrance. The wires pulled the goblins to different poles, wrapping their arms and legs behind the poles and looping around their necks to hold them tightly in place as their clothing was stripped and shoved into the goblins’ mouths to keep them silent as more wires covered their lower faces. Soon the horde was trapped, lined up like party decorations. “Well done, Mrs. Harmond. Have the maid decorate them with lights,” Jacob suggested. “Of course, Mr. Ashworthy.”
