Great reminder. Shared decision-making/treatment goals key for this group.

Important paper addresses how frequently should home BP monitoring be performed. They concluded every 12-months...I'm kind of a 6-month person myself if people are stable (aligned with semiannual monitoring), but monthly when titrating...thoughts?

The ISH was very sad to learn of the death of Professor Graham MacGregor, an outstanding physician, hypertension researcher and tenacious public health advocate.

Graham was winner of the ISH’s most prestigious award in 2010.

Another vitamin D trial in AKI this time, and it still does not do much 😏
castltrastondrs.bsky.social
#Medsky🧪 #Immunosky #nephsky #publichealth the study found that treatment with either calcifediol or calcitriol did not significantly reduce #acutekidneyinjury (AKI) in critically ill adults, despite the activated forms of vitamin D upregulating relevant gene pathways.

Sleep BP (or should I say SUPINE blood pressure) is associated with cognitive impairment in this cool pilot study.

I can't wait to share! There's a lot to unpack and love to hear what people think. We really focused on finding a grocery ordering strategy that would achieve health benefits. I think that is a critical piece of Food-Is-Medicine and sets up a good starting point to think more about implementation.

Excited to share our GoFresh late-breaking trial results at

You really think they haven't looked at it? Wouldn't you want to show that to make your case? It's odd.

Looks like numbers to me!

Sigh... Couldn't there more data on albuminuria, Lvh regression, etc...
spjuraschek.bsky.social
That would be a cool head to head... A demographic algorithm alert from clinic to high risk patients who haven't had their bp checked in a year vs the watch. A watch could be more motivating than a clinic alert/letter.

How good is the song "Golden" to get ready for a presentation?!? Top favorite right now!
spjuraschek.bsky.social
Oh yeah .. using pt reported data alone... The watch may add a little though, but one could simply send high risk people a letter encouraging them to get their BP checked.
spjuraschek.bsky.social
I wonder about false reassurance too. I think the watch has enough sensors to distinguish activity from rest, and bases on multiple days. Google published some data showing that ppg could improve a baseline demographic model's prediction of hypertension using pulse ox ppg from the UK biobank.

Do you think this will reach those who are not getting screened during an annual visit? I suspect a lot of smartwatch users have access to a pcp.?
